A light leads to ...
This and the previous entry are good representations of what I've been interested in photographing lately ... the odd architectural detail and florals.

These shots are absolutely stunning - beautifully done! Sat 13-Aug-2005 18:55

SlimFatty and the River!

these are various views that highlight or include the Schuylkill River. If you're outside of Philadelphia, you may not be familiar with the pronunciation of that. It's sku-kill. None of the extra letters get pronounced.

The colours are so brilliantly captured, and I'm so impressed with the seagull in mid-flight - I'll definitely check back with this page - these photos are stunning Sat 13-Aug-2005 18:58

SlimFatty and the Strays!

Mack Catty
Delicate balance
Anubis in the Snow
[b]These are my extra kitties, the two strays that I feed. This was the first time I'd seen them in over a week after all the snow we got recently. I was worried about them being off somewhere starving.

I've named them. The big golden striped tabby is Mack Catty. The black kitty is Anubis. I've been feeding them for almost 5 months and Mack Catty still shies away from me. I think he was born in the streets and has never really "known" people. Anubis, on the other hand, is very friendly. She loves to rub up against my legs when I go out into the yard. Usually, I find that when kitties are friendly like that and seem familiar with people, it's because they were part of a household at one point and were put out in the streets.

If anybody EVER has any doubts on the subject ... the answer is YES, it is much better to take an unwanted pet to various animal shelters than to put them out in the streets!

Don't do anything to an animal that you wouldn't want done to YOU!

Hi Jen,
those pics are really stunning...try doing the same like this one on the post *gg*

And get a happy weekend when sitting there..

Best wishes, Werner

SlimFatty Takes a Seat!

Nighttime Snow

The Red Chair
Guess who just got a new digital camera? Yep, that's right ... ME!! Although, film photography will always be my true love. I got a Fuji FinePix S5100. It's pretty nifty and has 122 pages of instruction manual features. THAT's one downside to digital that I'm NOT liking. But one thing I really like is that it came with a filter adapter ring. Yay! No extra purchase necessary. Better yet, the filter adapter just happens to be 55mm which is the size of all filters I use for my film cameras.

While positioning myself at my window, I started practicing on night shots. The next day I started practicing on Photoshop. The chair you see in green and in red is actually a rather dull beige. Not dull because it's beige, but dull because the thing is old and worn out.

Hey....long time no "hear from"... Congrats on yer new camera. My Nikon has a 28mm lens so I had to get a step-up ring (37mm) and then ANOTHER to get to the 49mm size to accomodate filters. It works though. Great shots here!!! Wed 2-Feb-2005 21:40

Congrad on you new camera... I am sure you will make it sing! Your photoshop work is really coming along. I like the color added to the snow pictures ... they are always so black and white!

SlimFatty on the Boardwalk!

Lunch Time I
Lunch Time II
Lunch Time III
This was one of those moments that made me spend some time thinking about myself and what I'm willing to do for others around me, both human and animal.

The lady in the photos was homeless. Everything she owned was in a cart on wheels. Yet, she was willing to share what little food she had with the pigeons and seagulls. I may have said it before here, but here it is again ... I'm always amazed when I see someone who doesn't have to be kind actually being kind!

sometimes that's the best road to happiness! Thu 27-Jan-2005 22:46

Best wishes for a Happy New Year for everybody!

My friend Mark's yard looks like a botanical dreamland. He has flowers and plants everywhere. I got these pictures right after he'd watered all the plants. I just love water droplets!

SlimFatty and the Spirit of Christmas Past!

This is me back in 1967. To this day, I remember it as one of the best Christmases I've ever had. It was a very happy day.

Merry Christmas to all
